Take shelter under Krishna

There is a beautiful slokam that comes while chanting Sri Vishnu Sahasranamam.

chāyāyāṃ pārijātasya hemasiṃhāsanopari
āsīnamaṃ budhaśyāmam-āyatākṣam-alaṅkṛtaṃ |
candrānanaṃ caturbāhum śrivatsāṅkita-vakṣasam
rukmiṇi-satyabhāmābhyaṃ sahitaṃ kṛṣṇam-āśraye ||

āśrye - I take shelter

Under whom?  Let us find out,

pārijātasya chāyāyāṃ - In the shade of pārijāta tree,
hemasiṃhāsanopari - on top of a golden throne
āsīnamam - seated

Who is seated on top of a golden throne under the shade of a pārijāta tree?

budhaśyāmam - He is dark in color like the clouds
āyatākṣam - He is has big eyes like blossomed lotuses
alaṅkṛtam - He is beautifully decorated
rukmiṇi-satyabhāmābhyāṃ sahitam - He is joined by Rukmini and Satyabhama

Who? Who?

kṛṣṇam! - Krishna!

The sweetheart of Rukmini and Satyabhama is seated well decorated on a golden throne under the shade of a pārijāta tree.  He is dark like the clouds and has large beautiful eyes.

Rukmini and Satyabhama are just looking at Him and drinking His sweetness.  He is relishing their companionship.

The storm of saṃsāra is raging.  Come quickly, let us take shelter under Krishna.

Blog Purpose

The purpose of this blog is to discuss Bhakti.  Bhakti is the medicine for all people, especially in this age.  It is also the natural state of the soul.  It is not possible to attain liberation by arguing, reading books on philosophy, torturing your mind with logic or performing weird meditations.  Bhakti is the only way. This bhakti must come from the grace of Lord Krishna Himself, and not artificially forced.

If you read all of the ithihasas and puranas, you will find that no scholar, logician, grammarian or ritualist ever attained salvation or communion with the Lord.  Instead, kids like Dhruva and Prahlada did, monkeys like Hanumana and Sugriva did, demons like Vibhishana and Mahabali did, hunter-folk Guha and Sabari did, the bird Jatayu got moksha, Kubja, Akrura, Vidhura and Malakara attained the grace of the Lord, and above all, illiterate and ordinary gopikas experienced the highest Brahman of the Vedanta.  Bhakti was the common denominator.  The Lord Himself cultivated the Bhakti in them and delivered them.  So, forget about vain arguments on who is right and who is wrong, what is knowledge, what is truth etc, and let Krishna channel all your senses and mind towards Him.  If you want to get habituated to bhakti, then you may enjoy some of my posts.

About myself:
Having seen a lot of online debates, let me confess that I am an illiterate and stupid girl.  I don't know all the complicated philosophy and scholarly writings.  So, don't jump on me for what I write or argue with me.  I don't know anything and you may get nonsense from my side, and lose your peace of mind.

Spiritually, I am deeply impressed by Svami Ramanujacharya's teachings and by the devotional system of ISKCON.   So, if you want to sort me by faith, I am a Bhagavata.

Being Bhagavata is more than faith.  I love Krishna.  He is my lover.  He is my husband.  He is my master.  He loves me so much that He is sitting inside me forever.  He is me and I am Him.  He is not without me and I am not without Him.  Andal says, "Our relationship can never be broken".  It is the only true relationship.  He is my lover, my protector, my father, my mother and my all.  He even owns the bangles I wear and He innocently asks me, "Will you give me one of them?" Krishna! You are the sweetest thing in all universe!

None of this is not my achievement or realization after practising some meditation or sadhanas. I told you already that I am not well read or disciplined.  This is how He has chosen to reveal Himself to me so far.

I am a servant of Krishna.  So, Krishnadasi.  He is my husband, so I added his name as my surname.  Krishnadasi Vasudevan.  It is not my real name ... or it is my true name. :)
